So I went shopping in the city today and popped into Lush at Melbourne Central, one of my favourite shops (I applied for a position at their Doncaster store, fingers crossed!!). Turns out they were having a VIP day, so if you spent $50 or more you got some freebies, and I think if you bought a moisturiser you got a free face mask. But anyhoo, this is what I got (all pictures from Lush website):
Happy Blooming Bath Melt: Smells like cherries and calamine (at least that’s what they say, I’m useless at describing scents). I had a bath with this tonight and it was very nice, my bathroom still smells great 5 hours later. My skin feels nice and soft, and I smell good too, which in my opinion is always a plus :p. These are particularly good as for $7.95 you get three uses. This is the first bath melt I’ve tried and I really want to give Ceridwyn’s Cauldron (I’ve only seen this on the site, I don’t remember seeing it in store), Dreamtime and Floating Island a try. Ceridwyn’s Cauldron and Floating Island both have sandalwood oil in them, which is a smell I’ve recently discovered I love, and Dreamtime sounds lovely as well.
Miranda soap: This smells like kiwi fruit and a few other things, I had to unwrap it to get a proper smell cos the outside of the wrapper just smells like general Lush-ness. Haven’t used it yet but I really like the smell.
Sunny Side Bubble Bar: I really really really love the Bubble Bars and this is my favourite out of the ones I’ve tried so far. I was hesitant to use this at first because of the glitter but I went for it anyway and I was very very happy! It smells absolutely amazing, all orange and lemon and tangerine, but without the sharpness. What I loved even more than the smell though was that after the bubbles disappeared, my bathwater was all gold and shimmery. I sat in the bath for a good 20 minutes extra just playing with the pretty water. Yes I am secretly 4 years old. But anyway, amazing and pretty much my favourite thing from Lush so far.
Flosty Gritter Bubble Bar: I got this one as I had such a good experience with the other sparkly bubble bar, and also it is vanilla and lavender scented which appeals to me. I keep picking it up and just smelling it through the wrapper. I can’t wait to use this!
Sea Vegetable soap: This is my second bar of this, the last one I bought got used up too quickly as it kept getting pilfered by the rest of my family. I think the main scents are lavender and lime, which is a great combination and I’m going to have to hunt down something similar in a perfume. I love this soap, I love the smell, the look, the sea salt crust and the bits of seaweed inside. Equal favourite product with Sunny Side.
I got excited when I saw lots of UK bloggers talking about this, and I was pleased to see it on my side of the pond today. I’ve been meaning to get a lip scrub for ages, and I suppose I could have made one myself, but this smells like chocolate and vanilla. It scrubs my lips very nicely but the downside is I have to resist licking it all off – yes it tastes great but also has a tiny bit of a soapy taste – just enough to stop me eating it out of the jar!!
As well as the things I bought, the people at Lush Melbourne Central were very very generous with the freebies, it was supposedly a VIP day but I bought 6 things and received 5 free items and a 10% discount voucher for my next trip!
Think Pink Bath Ballistic: Despite being a Lush nut, I haven’t used any of their bath ballistics yet, mostly because I’d rather get a bubble bar which I can get 2-3 uses out of for a similar price to the one use bath ballistic. I do really like bath bomb type things though so I’m looking forward to using this.
Tisty Tosty Bath Ballistic: This looks and smells really lovely and I’m looking forward to using it…not much more I can really say yet!!
Business Time Massage Bar: I am all for anything named after a Flight of the Conchords song, and this smells nice and creamy. Going to try this one out next time I see my boy
The Godmother Soap: This probably isn’t something I would have chosen on my own (at least until I’d tried everything else!!) but it smells so so nice and sort of coconutty and fruity.

Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo: I haven’t used any of Lush’s hair products and wasn’t really planning to, as I have very long, very thick and very curly hair, so I only shampoo once a week or so, but I go through a lot of conditioner and up to $35 is a bit much for something I’ll probably run out of very quickly. Anyway, this shampoo smells very unique, quite lemony but also sort of masculine, I would assume that is the beer and cognac oil. I’m looking forward to giving this a try, as I really dislike shampoo and try to avoid it as much as possible but I’m willing to find something that I like!
Well that was a really long post and I feel sort of guilty posting about all these things I got but if I’d been in on any other day I would have had about half as much due to the VIP day, so I guess it’s ok
P.S. I just previewed this post and looking at all the goodies I have to try is making me really excited about my next bath!!!
